I declare and prophecy that our city is about to have a spiritual awakening. As a matter of fact it has already started. It’s what we in the church call a “Revival”. In history there has been many revivals and even today in many places around the world Christianity is growing at an alarming rate. It starts in a personal way, as God moves by His Spirit, and then tends to spill out into others around us. It seems to come when people can’t handle the way things are and choose to do something about it. Paul says in 2 Cor 1, in a way, “mans extremity is Gods opportunity”. You can move down a political road for help but that will only give earthly help, even if you become PM. Our real problem is a spiritual one and needs to addressed by God, not man, and its in that place we get heavenly help. This leads us into a victorious place within ourselves and into a place of self governance. The original plan for man was to be governed internally, from our heart, not externally but laws. The reason we have so many laws and need a lawyer when we are in trouble shows that we are governed by external law not internal love. The message of the bible is about God living in our lives and leading us through life the way it is meant to be, loving God and loving each other. When Christianity becomes an external law and not an internal grace we have become nothing more than a religious, self centred voice, trying to keep a set of rules because we have to, and not because we want to. This I why I believe revival is coming. We need a spiritual awakening. It starts in the church and flows out into the city and from there to the nation and beyond. We are living in an exciting day so get ready, Jesus is on His way. See you in church on Sunday. Amen

In the early days everyone believed in God, or at least a god. Deep in the soul of every person there is a desire for God. Our society may have tried to cover it over with many things but deep down in every heart there still is a desire to find God as He is the only one who knows our divine destiny. The Bible says, “God is spirit and those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth”. Most of us believe we have a soul but what about the spirit of man. When Jesus was baptised, the holy spirit descended upon him like a dove. John the Baptist said “I baptise with water but Jesus would baptise us in the Holy Spirit and fire. This came on the day of Pentecost and people have been getting baptised in the Holy Spirit ever since. I will never forget the day that this happened to me. I was 21 years old sitting in the midst of a group of people learning about Christ when all of a sudden Holy Spirit fell on me and I began to speak in another language, it truly was an amazing divine encounter. I will never forget the love that fell on me that day and the incredible peace that I found in my heart. I had a new strength come that night, an empowerment that lead me into the ministry. Some people think it’s only for special people but my bible teaches me that whoever wants Him can have Him. Just receive Jesus as your saviour and ask Him for the gift of the Holy Spirit. Wow!

“Sit in the seat of the restored”.
It’s a terrible feeling when you walk into a room and sit down and someone comes up to you and says, “excuse me but you’re sitting in my chair”. It sometimes happens at weddings or some social gatherings. We too sometimes feel we are in the wrong place, not just at a function but the position in life we have been called to. So how do we know if we are in the right position? In the midst of a pray time recently, I sensed God say to me, “Sit in the seat of the restored”. As I studied and prayed about this statement, I discovered that the heart of God is not to destroy everyone but to see people restored. The entire message of the bible is one of restoration. Jesus Christ came to earth to seek and to save those that were lost (Lk:10). To sit in the seat of the restored, means to follow the path that God has for us, the path He planned before time began (Ps 139). Will this path have problems and sorrow? Absolutely. Every path on this earth has this. The difference is, if we do it with out faith we are left to our own abilities or the path others set for us. If we follow Gods path for us we have an amazing trust, hope, peace and love, knowing that everything that happens to us is working for us not against us. It’s a path of favour and grace and you’ll be way to blessed to be depressed. I invite you today to listen to the one who created you, ask Jesus Christ to be your Saviour and come and sit in the seat of the restored.

The greatest sermon every preached was by Christ himself. We all call it the sermon on the mount found in the book of Mathew. He teaches a way of life that will bring happiness and freedom if we follow His principles. It’s amazing, that as we read the message, most of us would fully agree with what He is saying. And why wouldn’t we, as He was God on earth and knows a little more than us. It is in this message that we get the “Lords Prayer” and a lot about the kingdom of heaven. He teaches us things like, not to worry but to trust, He teaches us to forgive and not to be bitter, to be meek, to be humble, to be kind and so on and most would agree that if everyone lived like this it would be a great community. He also says that if we live this way we are like a wise man who built his house upon the rock and not like a fool who builds on sand. So why don’t we all live this way? It’s because we don’t have the ability to do it. We all need the power that Jesus promised to live it out. That power source is called the Holy Ghost and Jesus promised us that He would give Him to us if we ask. We can be a sheep or a goat. A sheep submits to the master and has a great life while the goat rebels and is independent of the master. So it would appear that every body wants the blessed life of the sheep but not many want the Shepherd.

“Taught by Grace”.
I felt to share a small thought on what it means to be taught by grace. As we go through life and get more and more educated we are usually taught by law.  Rules of what works, how it works and so on. The world is run on rules and we are taught them and if you stay with in the boundaries you will be ok. But Gods kingdom is not that way. In the book of Titus it says, “For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. (‭Titus‬ ‭2‬:‭11-14‬ NKJV). So God doesn’t teach by His laws but by His Grace. His grace comes along side us and journeys us through life and the laws of God become a promise not a burden. Grace doesn’t let us keep sining but empowers us to have victory over it. Grace is alive, Faith is alive, just like the bible is alive. So in the middle of a try harder culture just relax and let the love of Christ, that is, His grace, come along side you and teach you to walk in the victory He has promised.

Walk in the Spirit

I was reading an article recently on what the modern church should look like. Even within our denominations we have many different views. My last article I wrote was based on the opinions of man and the opinions of God. Today we have seeker friendly churches, we have fundamental churches, we have charismatic churches and mainline churches just to name a few. We have high churches and low churches, small churches and big churches. One of the views of the modern church is our level of tolerance. We try to move the Bible to suit the way society is instead of moving society into where God is. Whenever we try to please people without The Holy Spirit we will always create some sort of ism. Be it humanism, pluralism, socialism or even religion. We try to tolerate and accept every type of behaviour until that behaviour is outside of our theological grid and then we have division. The Bible is very clear on how things should be and teaches us that we will never understand the kingdom of God until we are born again. (Jn :3). Could our problem be that we try to get agreement with earthly wisdom instead of heavenly wisdom. James tells us that that wisdom from this earth is sensual and demonic.  (This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. James‬ ‭3‬:‭15‬ NKJV). I agree with us being loving and tolerant, but if its sin, its wrong. The truth is, our sin is not toward man but toward God. The great news of the Kingdom of heaven is that we don’t have to carry our sin anymore because Jesus took it for us and sets us free. If we live in the Spirit and not the carnal nature then things will be much better. Paul says, “Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh”.  (‭Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬ NKJV). He goes on to say that it’s very evident what the works of the sinful nature are! He then shares the fruit of the spirit. The bible still has the answer for all of us, that is, Give our life to Jesus, walk in the Spirit and we will have the love, joy and peace that Galatians writer talks about.

I’ve met a lot of people in my days and I’ve never met one that doesn’t have an opinion, even in silence they have one. People have opinions about everything, in fact it would be safe to say there are a lot more opinions than people. Where do we get our opinions from? We get it from families, friends, education or life experiences, etc. As a local pastor, a strong view amongst  people is this. If something bad happens, God gets the blame. I often tell folk, “If you can’t praise God for the good things don’t blame Him for the bad”!
In the good book it says, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you”. (Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭33‬ NKJV). What things? All things we need for a happy prosperous life. Why is it that most people think that God wants to take everything away from us? Jesus says “added to” not take away. He boldly says,”The thief comes to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly”.(John‬ ‭10‬:‭10‬ NKJV). If you ask anyone who has been born again they will testify of the truth of this verse. At our church we see many peoples lives transformed from darkness to glorious light. We all need to see and understand that in this world we will have trouble, but the good news is that Christ has delivered us from it. (Jn 16:33). Three thousand years ago King David said,”many are the afflictions of the righteous but God delivers him out of them all”(Ps 34).  One thing God took from me was my mess and He gave me the gift of eternal life. Thank you Jesus.

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. (‭Ephesians‬ ‭3‬:‭14-19‬ NKJV)
What a powerful passage of scripture! The thing that blesses me in these verses is the strength in the inner man and faith that is in the heart gives us the love of Christ which passes knowledge.
In Romans ch 5, we are justified by Faith and the love of Christ is poured into our hearts by the Holy Ghost. Faith can live in many places, predominantly it lives in our mind and in our heart. Faith is Spirit and is given by the Holy Spirit. (1Cor 12:9) (2Cor 4:13).
Spirit faith is an inner certainty when we know that we know that we know. The Word in our head may be right but never carries power and certainty. That’s not Faith. It always needs some form of proof. I have noticed that many young people are looking for proof on what they believe because it is an intellectual type of faith and needs to make sense with the way they think. When I got born again at the age of ten I had know idea what was coming. After I prayed, the love of God fell on me and all of a sudden I KNEW Jesus was alive. This was grace. My head caught up latter with what the Spirit was doing. What a great day that was.
When we read a promise in the Word of God it can sit in our head for years and never produce fruit. When we meditate on it and allow it to drop down into our spirit it becomes alive and now we have faith. Spirit Faith. This is why we need to read the Word and allow our minds to be renewed, so it can drop down into our heart. (Rom 12). Some say, “seeing is believing” but we say, “believing is seeing”. This is Mark Ch 11. Jesus said, “When you pray, believe you receive”. We believe BEFORE we receive, and we know God has heard our prayer and we now thank Him for the answer. This is Spirit Faith. We don’t need a sign or proof because we just know that we know. It doesn’t matter what others think as we just know. With this kind of faith, all things are possible to him who believes and this kind of faith pleases God. (Heb 11). Hallelujah.

The Silver Trumpets

And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: “Make two silver trumpets for yourself; you shall make them of hammered work; you shall use them for calling the congregation and for directing the movement of the camps. (‭Numbers‬ ‭10‬:‭1-2‬ NKJV)
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. (‭I Thessalonians‬ ‭4‬:‭16‬ NKJV)
3500 years ago God told Moses to make 2 silver trumpets. These were to give direction to the people of God. If we are going to go ever upward in God we need to be listening to the Word of God.
The 4 levels of hebrew study are:
Pashat….in Hebrew…”simple”
Remez….in Hebrew…”hint”
Drash….in Hebrew…”search”
Sod…In Hebrew…”hidden”
When we look at this through Hebrew study we see that the “Pashat” is the simple story that the silver trumpet gave direction. We know that there is more in this verse than that and as we meditate we will get an abundance of revelation. You will find more than what I’m sharing as you study.
As we move into “Remez” we see a “hint”of the silver meaning. Silver speaks of redemption as Jesus was sold for 30 pieces of silver and silver is right through the tabernacle. In this verse it was also hammered out flat then shaped into a trumpet. etc………?
Now we see “Drash”coming in as we seek God for revelation as to how it lifts up Jesus and draws us closer to Him. As we seek, God will reveal a Rhema word that will lead us ever upward. This could go any direction for us depending on what The Lord wants to tell us.
The “Sod” for me after seeking is this, ” The breath or Spirit of God is blowing down through a costly hammered redeeming Jesus giving us direction to go Ever Upward”. When the last trumpet sounds it’s home time, Hallelujah.

Locked in stocks in your under jocks.
Ministering to The Lord through praise and worship. The story of Paul and Silas.
Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling. This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And he came out that very hour. But when her masters saw that their hope of profit was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace to the authorities. And they brought them to the magistrates, and said, “These men, being Jews, exceedingly trouble our city; and they teach customs which are not lawful for us, being Romans, to receive or observe.” Then the multitude rose up together against them; and the magistrates tore off their clothes and commanded them to be beaten with rods. And when they had laid many stripes on them, they threw them into prison, commanding the jailer to keep them securely. Having received such a charge, he put them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks. But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed. And the keeper of the prison, awaking from sleep and seeing the prison doors open, supposing the prisoners had fled, drew his sword and was about to kill himself. But Paul called with a loud voice, saying, “Do yourself no harm, for we are all here.” Then he called for a light, ran in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptized. Now when he had brought them into his house, he set food before them; and he rejoiced, having believed in God with all his household. (‭Acts‬ ‭16‬:‭16-34‬ NKJV)
This is a great story if your not in it or after you know how it finishes.
Satan’s people must of felt good when they had Paul and Silas beaten with rods, but it’s only early cause midnights coming. Satan must have thought, that will teach them to come hear casting out my demons, but he has no idea that midnights coming.
You may be going through it right now but let me tell you, midnight is coming. You may be locked in stocks in your under jocks but midnights coming, you may be bleeding and wounded but midnights coming. Midnight means that a new day is hear. When worship comes out of your mouth from the abundance of your heart, let me tell you midnight is coming. We are not waiting till our circumstances change before we worship, we are worshiping now and the earthquake is on it’s way. The people who hurt you are about to bathe your wounds and salvation is about to visit their house. Yes, revival is in the atmosphere and the grounds about to shake and loose the captives. What’s our role? Spend your time living for Jesus and not yourself, be obedient to the call and praise and worship Him in every situation from a place of rest and peace. God has heard your prayer and the midnight hour is upon us.
Remember, your victory going somewhere to win!

2016 has started well and our first month is almost over. With some of our New Year Resolutions already broken, what does the rest of the year have in stall. Will we look back at this time next year and say “Wow”? or will it be another lap around the same mountain with my burdens growing everyday. I guess that decision is ours. Sure there are things that we can’t change but what about the things we can.
The reason we go around the mountain again and again is because we don’t know how to avoid it even though we desire to.
One of the great things in Christianity is that Jesus gives us the power to break the cycle. This is what Grace is. It’s not just Gods unmerited favour but power to live in freedom. When we look at the stories in the bible, you will see God brought us out to bring us in.
He didn’t just bring His people out of bondage, but took them into the promise land.
He didn’t just save us, He has gone to prepare a place for us.
He didn’t just take our sin, he filled us with His righteousness.
He didn’t just deliver us from darkness, but filled us with His light.
He didn’t just deliver us from evil but filled us with His Holy Spirit.
So how do we stop another lap around the mountain? The answer is, don’t look to the left or the right but look up. He is only a prayer away and as close as the mention of His name.

What about the rest?
One of Gods wonderful promises is “entering His rest”. We have talked about the Sabbath day of rest, that is to have a day off once a week, but Gods rest is much more. We as New Testament believers should be living in the seventh day. We are a heavenly people as heaven is in our hearts. Rest is not sitting down doing nothing, rest is quietness of the soul, it’s peace, love and joy in the Holy Ghost, no matter what we are doing. You can be sitting down doing nothing and still be busy in the soul, or be going flat out so you don’t have time to listen to the inner voice of the soul. Hebrews 4 teaches us that the only thing stopping us from entering rest is a wicked heart of unbelief. In Psalms 110 it says, “The Lord said to my lord, sit down until I make your enemies your foot stool”. This is the order of Melchizedek, priests and kings under God. The key word here is to sit down. Ephesians tells us we are seated with Christ in the heavens. This is the place of amazing victory and rest. Jesus says in Matt 11:33, come to me all who are burdened and heavy laden and I will give you rest.
So what is the practical application of this. Repent of a wicked heart of unbelief and sit down in our heavenly place and watch The Lord make our enemy our foot stool.
Hallelujah, Praise The Lord.

It’s time to rest
In a world that is travelling 1,000,000 miles an hour, on the highway of life it appears that the white posts are going past like a picket fence. We seem to be going so fast that the angels are flapping like crazy to keep up with us. But somehow we can’t stop. In a debt driven society we have to work more just so that we can buy more. And for what purpose? And I asked the question, “are we living to work or working to live”? There is a wonderful principal in the good book it’s called the seventh day of rest. I remember the days when no shops were open on Sunday, and most people seem to go to church or at least spend time with their families. On Sunday, as a boy,  I was not allowed to ride my motorbike and after lunch we all had to have a lie down. After some of mums great Sunday roasts, we needed to lie down anyway. So how do we find this place of rest. The answer is simple, just do it and have a day off. We have such an increase of stress, of mental illness, of burnout, such increase of nervousness and anxiety all because we have been going to hard, to fast for too long, it’s time to have a rest. Statistics tell us that we get more work done in six days with one day rest then working seven days straight.
Rest is not just sitting down doing nothing, all though that’s a good idea, rest is actually finding a place of peace. Jesus said in Matthew chapter 11 “come unto me all you who are burdened and I will give you rest”. Wow. Sounds good to me. Why don’t we give it a try.
See you on Sunday!

The blood of the Lamb.
Most cultures have blood shedding in some form or another to please the gods or to gain power. You would think that if you where to display power and authority you would use the blood of a warrior, or the blood of a lion or of the strongest thing in creation! When Jesus Christ came and took on humanity he came as a humble servant and the bible calls Him the Lamb of God. Of all the animals to choose He chose to be a lamb and totally defeated the work of Satan. This is still the way we win today. We we pick up the power of the blood of Christ it is humble, forgiving, loving, peaceful and way beyond all we can say or think and still totally smashes the power of the enemy. Praise God for Calvary.
Jesus was not the lamb because he went to the cross, but because He was the Lamb he went to the cross.

Victory going somewhere to win!
I was listening to an interview on radio the other day about the state of the world and the answer to it. The suggestion was, that if we could educate people more then we could handle problems better. This is true in part, but the bigger issue is that we have a society that lacks character. What is Character? The word means, proof or experience. Knowledge comes easy. Today you just double click on it. But character comes at a price and you can’t double click on experience you have to go through it. A lot of the time we ask. “Why is this happening to me”, or ” stop the world and let me off”. But what happens in you, is far more important than what happens to you. The good book says in Romans 5, “but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us”. So why is it so difficult right now? It’s because God has a much bigger plan and we are a part of it and need character to handle it. Don’t ever loose sight of the eternal picture.
Someone asked Winston Churchill what he was doing during England’s darkest hour (the bombing of England in WWII). He replied, ―I was in the bomb shelter planning the invasion of Europe! In England’s darkest hour he was planning her greatest victory. What is God doing in your darkest hour? He is in you, planning and preparing you for your greatest win. So hang in there my friend, when you come out of this you’ll be, victory going somewhere to win.

“You will know the Truth and the Truth will set you free”.
The bible says that “as a man thinks in his heart so is he”. (Proverbs 23:7). One might say that our actions fall short of our beliefs but in reality our actions are  our beliefs. This is why we need to have a belief system in our heart that is based on truth and not on a lie. In my past thirty years of ministry I have discovered how true that proverb is, for myself, and also for others. Our feelings will always come in line with the way we think but most of us live a life letting our feelings control the way we think. This is why we need to fill our minds with the Truth and as the bible says “we will know the Truth and the Truth will set us free”. This world is full of lies and as the scripture  says, Satin is the father of lies, but Jesus is the Truth (John 14).
So what is the truth? What is the truth that sets us free? Simply it is Jesus Christ, the Eternal God who loved us so much that He gave His life that we can be saved and set free. The issue with all of us is sin and when sin reigns in our minds we are bound cause we believe a lie. When we ask Christ into our lives there is an amazing change as Truth comes in, the lies move out and our sin is washed away. And that’s not all. As we start our new life with God we continue to change more and more as we establish truth in our heart and mind, as we read the Bible, the Word of God. I encourage you today, pick up the good book, get around people that think this way and may be you’ll find yourself in church this Sunday and you may discover that you will, “know the truth and the truth will set you free”!

Philosophy or Faith.
One of the things in our modern day is that we have access to information like never before. We are continually receiving it from all over the world and if we want to know anything, just us Mr Google. We know more today, as a people, than any other time in history and yet Faith is at an all time low. It seems that the smarter we get the less faith we have.
The word philosophy simply means, a love of wisdom and knowledge, while Faith means, strong belief based on spiritual conviction rather than proof. People today desire to work it all out so they feel secure but it sets a path of ever learning but never finding the answer. Faith on the other hand, simply trusts in the all mighty God who knows and created it all, and that gives amazing security.
At the age of 10 years old I discovered this amazing truth as I put my trust in Jesus Christ and experienced eternal security.
Philosophy is according to man while faith is according to God. Philosophy may not be wrong, but it is always limited. It is limited to the ability of man, while faith is unlimited, as it is the ability of God. I often wonder why people don’t want faith when there is so much help available to us. The bible says in Romans 10:17, that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. In the book of Hebrews it says that faith gives rewards. How close is Jesus? He is just a prayer away. Why don’t we put a side our unbelief in 2015 and start to move by faith.

Demonic Detours in the Divine Desert.
The only way from bondage to the promise is through a wilderness experience. It is on this wilderness experience that you Encounter God and learn his ways. This is typified in the journey of the children of Israel from Egypt to the promised land. There was a shortcut to the promised land, but God said you’re not to go that way because you will see the enemy and be fearful and turn back (Ex 13:17). This is why God brings us through a red sea experience so we can’t go back to bondage. It is on this wilderness experience that we are tempted to take detours because we don’t enjoy The Lord dealing with us. We are all looking for our destiny and promise but there are no short cuts to the glory. Remember it’s the promised land that flows with milk and honey that God wants to take us to (Ex 3:8).
If you have a geographical look at the wilderness the children went through, you see all the nations that surrounded them.
Midian. (Ex 3:1). This is where Moses’s father-in-law came from. Surely that would be a good place to go. Lets stay with our family and be comfortable. But the call of God is greater than our family, this is why the Bible says the man will leave his mother and father and be joined to his wife.(Gen 2:24). We need to break soul ties and control and fulfil the will of God for us so that when we get to the promise we have divine relationships with our family that has support not control.
Er of the Chaldeans. (Gen 12). This is where Abraham come from. There is always a temptation to go back to the very thing that God has called you out off. This is the place of idol worship and new age philosophy. Today the enemy lies to us with all types of deception to try to stop us from entering Gods promise.
Babylon. (Gen 11). There are two great cities in the Bible, Jerusalem and Babylon, and Babylon has always been an enemy to Jerusalem. This is the place where man built a tower to reach heaven. This is a place of self effort, it means trying to reach God our own way. It speaks of money and wealth, and we often detour here as it seems easier than submitting to God. This is religion, a form of Godliness that we can control, but it lacks peace and power. We often detour here so we don’t need anyone to help us and so we don’t have to face and deal with the evil issues in our heart.
Assyria. (Gen 10). The land of Nimrod the city builder. Again doing things through self effort, moving into a place where you don’t need God, and I can do all this by myself. Often a place of good works but not God works. Instead of leading the city to Jesus, we are tempted to build our own empire. This was the start of Babylon.
Mesopotamia. (Gen 24). That’s the place that is halfway between the Chaldeans, that Abraham was called from, and the promise land. Its the place where Isaac got his wife, is the place where Jacob got his wife, however Abraham strong word was, “don’t  go to that place otherwise you may never leave”. Its a terrible place when your stuck half way.
So as we journey together into the will of God, lets be mindful that we have an enemy that will try to detour us off the path of God. Let’s stay in prayer and close to Jesus, and be filled with the Holy Ghost in these last days as we see Gods Kingdom come, His will be done, on earth as it is in heaven as we enter into the promise land.
Ps Tim.

What does judgement look like? The Bible says in John chapter 10 that Jesus came to give us a life and life in all its abundance. He did not come to condemn the world (Jn 3) but came to save the world yet in John 9 He came to judge the world and open the spiritual eyes of the blind. There is a big difference between condemnation and judgement as we see in these 2 chapters. (Jn 3 & Jn 9).
The judgement of God is the fire of the Holy Ghost that will burn out the dross in our lives. Many theologians today are trying to wipe away the judgement of God, but it’s the judgement of God that brings divine order and brings His people into wonderful alignment. It is the fire of the Holy Ghost. The bible has many examples of the fire of God purifying us like silver and gold (Mal 3). This brings divine order in our lives, as the fire of God comes upon us, we allow Him to judge us and burnout  things that are not of God. So therefore the judgement of God is not a bad thing, it’s a good thing, for it restores, delivers and heals. This is true Grace.
Let’s allow Jesus to baptise us with fire in these last days that we don’t only talk Gods will but walk Gods will. Let’s take our place as the bride of Christ. Let’s get empowered by Him to do signs and wonders that glorify His Holy name.
“For behold, the day is coming, Burning like an oven, And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up,” Says the LORD of hosts, “That will leave them neither root nor branch. But to you who fear My name The Sun (burning fire) of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves. (‭Malachi‬ ‭4‬:‭1-2‬ NKJV)

The title of my blog today is, “Know your Enemy”. The children of Israel when they left Egypt and journeyed through the wilderness to the promised land, is very much a picture of you and I on our journey of life. God always brings us out of things so that He can bring us into things. There are three things to make mention of here.
#1-Egypt. (the Kingdom of this world)
#2-The wilderness. (Breaking habits and unbelief)
#3-The promise land. (The Kingdom of God)
Its God’s plan and purpose to bring us into the promised land which is our true destiny. To get to that place we need to leave Egypt, cross the Red sea, obtain promises and the ways of God, cross the Jordan River and enter in to the promise land which is the will of God for us. (This is the book of Exodus).
These three places carry three very distinct types of prayer.
In Egypt we pray because we’re in bondage and we cry out to God for help.
In the wilderness we are learning how to pray, we call it  Mount Sinai prayer, where we start to pray the Word and the will of God.
The third place is, as we enter into the promised land, we pray the prayer of declaration. (Duet ch 1)

In these three places we have very different strategies of the enemy.

In Egypt, our enemy is, the things of this world. Pride and lust, or we could say, the girls, the gold and the glory. (James 1:14)
In the wilderness our enemy is ourselves. We fight to hold on to all our selfishness, we battle with Gods will which is humility and surrender. We still think we know best. This enemy has to be overcome so we have the mind of Christ to enter into the promises He has for us on the other side of the Jordan.
And thirdly, in the promise land our enemy is Satan and his demons. We cannot take on this area until we have dealt with the first levels. This level of warfare is only done by surrendered believers who can say with Paul, ” it’s no longer I that live, but Christ that lives in me”. (Gal ch 2:20) This level requires obedience and the empowering of the Holy Ghost and as Jesus said, “I only do what I hear my father say”. (Jn 14:49-50)
As Joshua was heading to his first battle in the promise land he met the captain of the Lords army. Joshua asked, “who side are you on”, and The Lord said “neither”. (Josh 5:14)
It’s not a matter of sides anymore. This battle is not ours it is the Lords.  It is about us being with Christ, not so much Christ being with us. This is the heavenly mindset. (Col 3:1-2). We don’t bring the word of God into our mind but we take our mind to the Word of God. We walk with the full armour of God in unity and in this we will see the principalities and powers pulled down over our city. (Eph ch 6)
As we look towards seeing a city come to Christ we must encounter God at this level and in one voice we declare, Your Kingdom come Your will be Done. (Matt 6:10)

What do you do when you’re at the end of your rope. Some say you need to tie a knot in it and hold on where others might say you need to let go. Different people give different advice and it appears that there are as many opinions as there are people. And the thought comes to mind, let go of what, or hang onto what, because sometimes were not sure what that even looks like? I reached this place many times in my early christian life. I never once doubted the existence of God and His love for me but struggled to know His will.
The battle we face today in our Western Coulture is selfishness. You will find that most of our decisions today are based on what will please us rather than what will help others, many have a self centred world view not a God centred world view. For example, most folks vote for the political party that will help them, not help the nation, or we only help someone if there is something in it for ourselves. When we have a God centred world view we will control ourselves and serve others, not serve ourselves and control others. So the short answer to the question is quite simple, let go of selfishness and hang on to Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit.
There’s a wonderful passage in the Bible that was written 2500 years ago by a prophet named Micah that was having a similar struggle. This is what he came up with,  “He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you, But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God”. (‭Micah‬ ‭6‬:‭8‬ NKJV)

What does it mean to walk in the power of God. What does it mean to give your life to Christ. Romans teaches us that the kingdom of God is not food and drink but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost. At Everupward we must be a people that are walking in the power of God. This is why we bring in preachers from all over the world to impart to us, what it is to surrender completely to Christ that we may walk in the power of God. This month starting from September 17 we have an incredible opportunity to be invaded by the power of God at every level starting with Evangelist David Hogan. We are believing God for creative miracles. If you know people that are in debt, depressed and discontented or sick, sad and sorrowful, or those who just need a fresh touch of God, let me encourage you to invite people to come to the meetings. After Evangelist David Hogan we have  Pastor Kerry Medway. He is hungry to see a move of God across Australia just as we are. We are not singing to the choir and entertaining the church but empowering the church to live the life that God has called us to that many may be saved, delivered and healed. After that, on the last weekend of September, we have Ronald Edwards an incredible businessman, a part of the international Christian Chamber of Commerce that sits in the seat of influence across nations. He is coming to teach us how to build a kingdom business, empowered by the Holy Ghost. What a great month. The Apostle Paul never came to town with clever speech but in a demonstration of the power of God. We believe these men will be the same. So what does it mean to give your life to Christ, simply this, you no longer live for yourself but Christ lives in you and through you. (Gal 2:20).
To all who read this blog let the power of God soak into you. Amen Jesus.

You have heard the saying,”Life was never meant to be easy”, but for some folks you have to ask the question, is it meant to be this hard. Everybody has a life story and no two are the same but this particular story inspires me.
He arrived at his home one afternoon just like he had been doing for the past 33 years to find the locks changed and a voice from the inside saying, “you need to contact your solicitor”. With only the clothes he was wearing he walked away from his family and his home, broken, bitter and bewildered. Thank God for the Salvo’s clothing. The next 18 months was a down hill spiral of divorce, debt, and discontentment. His life was one of pubs, clubs and alcohol and anything else that would met the longing in his soul. “I turned to alcohol to drown my sorrows but it only irrigated them”, he said.
The turn around came when a friend invited him to a meeting and with no desire at all he found himself in the back row of the large auditorium. The preacher shared the bible story of Joseph (Genesis 37) and he thought the preacher was talking about him. At the end of the message he gave his broken life to Jesus and the upward spiral began. It was a large gathering of over a thousand members and the senior pastor asked him to live with him. “I’m so grateful for that man, what a story of the good Samaritan,(Luke 10) Love is the answer, it will overcome every obstacle, people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care”, he said. He then started driving the church bus taking older people on outings. On the first bus trip he bumped into an old girlfriend, widowed, from his younger days that he hadn’t seen for 35 years and with in 8 months they were married. “It’s now been more than 20 years and life still gets better every day”, he said.
We’ve always said the greatest miracle today is a life transformed by the love of Jesus, and it’s displayed through you and I. (John 3:16-17).
